Race Information

When: Saturday March 10, 2007

Location: Pung-Waan Resort Kwai Noi 123/3 Thambon ThasaoAmphur
Saiyoke,Kanchanaburi 71150 Thailand

Direction : From Kanchanaburi take the route 323 direction Saiyoke. Drive about 60 kms
and you'll cross the railway Kanchanaburi - Namtok station. After the
crossing,continue about 1 kilometre and you'll see the panel for the Pung-Waan
resort on your left hand side. TURN LEFT JUST BEFORE THE ESSO GAS
STATION

Teams: Teams of 2 racers

Levels: • Extreme: for experienced racers and extremely fit competitors
• Adventure: Suitable for those playing sport on a regular basis or adventure
racing newcomers

Disciplines: • Biking
• Jungle running
• Kayaking
• River swimming and surprise obstacles along the course

Duration: 5-8 hours

Food & Drinks: Included in the race fee are:
• Fruit basket after the race
• Dinner buffet on Saturday evening (prizes and trophies ceremony) There will
be 3 water supply stations during the race. However, each competitor is
required to start the race with at least two litre of mineral water.(see
mandatory gear)

Schedule: Friday March 9th ,2007

Safety:

The safety issue is for us extremely important. An ambulance, two nurses and a doctor from the Bangkok Hospital will be on duty that day. The race has been specially designed to allow this medical staff on the scene in a matter of minutes in case of an emergency.

Adventure racing is a challenging sport, but teamwork and good sportsmanship are integral parts of making it a safe event. Pay attention to the needs of your teammates and other teams. If someone needs help, stop and help them.

Also, please come well prepared: mentally, physically, logistically.

Safety Considerations specific to this event include: Dehydration/ Hyponatremia; Exposure/Hypothermia; Wildlife (snakes, spiders, stray dogs, mosquitoes…..); travel through rugged areas (abrasions, twisted ankles, etc). Weather: Beginning of March it is expected to be hot and humid (35 degrees celcius ) during the day. Please prepare for weather.

Transportation:

Transportation can be arranged to the race location or appointed resorts. A free shuttle bus will leave Bangkok to the Race venue on March 9 at 1pm and will return on March 11 at 1 pm arriving in Bangkok around 5 pm

Rental of MTB + helmet: 1500 Thai Baht.Bikes from Spice Roads in good condition. We transport the bikes for you from Bangkok. Bikes can be used from Friday March 9 at noon until Sunday March 10 at noon.The spare tubes and repair kits are not suppliedPlease book now!
